🛡️ Driver Standards
We are developing strict standards for drivers, including background checks, proper licensing, and ongoing training to ensure every passenger is in safe hands.
🚍 Vehicle Safety
All vehicles will be maintained and inspected regularly to meet safety standards. Our goal is to provide reliable transportation that families and organizations can trust.
📋 Safety Procedures
We are building procedures for safe loading, unloading, and transport — especially for young children and individuals with disabilities who may need additional care.
♿ Accessibility & Care
Safety also means accessibility. We are committed to ensuring that every passenger receives the support and accommodations they need during transport.
🎥 Security & Onboard Cameras
Your safety is always in view. Every JML Transit bus will be equipped with a full video and audio system to help protect students, passengers, and drivers.
Inside the bus, we plan to have:
• 3 cameras at the front: watching the driver, the door, and the full cabin
• 2 cameras in the middle of the bus: one facing forward and one facing back
• 1 camera at the rear: facing forward into the cabin
Outside the bus, we plan to have:
• 2 cameras on each side: one near the front facing back, and one near the rear facing forward
• 1 camera at the very front and 1 at the very back of the bus
All footage will be date- and time-stamped and used only to review incidents, support investigations, and keep everyone safe. Our goal is to create a secure, respectful ride for every person on board.

We will continue reviewing and improving important tools such as onboard cameras, driver training programs, vehicle safety procedures, and company policies to make sure we are prepared to meet the needs of every rider.
Our goal is to stay ahead of industry best practices while creating a safe, reliable, and professional environment for Pre-K students, individuals with disabilities, campus riders, and the communities we serve.
We also believe that strong transportation starts with listening. The voices of students, parents, caregivers, riders, staff, schools, programs, and community partners will help guide how JML Transit grows over time. Whether someone rides with us for a short five-minute trip or depends on us every day throughout the school year, we want every person to feel safe, respected, valued, and cared for from pickup to drop-off.

Roadmap to 2030
Business Certificate Submitted
On May 6, JML Transit took its first official step by mailing its Business Certificate to the Erie County Clerk’s Office. This marks the beginning of a long-term plan to build a safe, reliable, and accessible transportation company for Western New York.
Planning & Foundation
From now through the next several years, JML Transit will focus on research, business planning, policy development, safety standards, vehicle options, insurance requirements, and understanding what it takes to serve Pre-K students, individuals with disabilities, and campus shuttle riders.
Safety Standards Development
Safety will remain at the center of JML Transit’s mission. We will continue developing future driver training standards, vehicle inspection practices, onboard camera policies, rider care procedures, and accessibility-focused transportation guidelines.
Partnerships & Community Planning
JML Transit will work toward building relationships with schools, Pre-K programs, disability organizations, colleges, campuses, families, and community partners to better understand transportation needs across Western New York.
Pilot Preparation
Before full launch, JML Transit plans to prepare for limited testing, operational planning, route development, and service readiness to make sure the company is built responsibly before serving riders.
Target Launch: 2030 or Later
JML Transit is planning for a future launch around 2030 or later. While we are not open for business yet, every step taken now helps build the foundation for a transportation company focused on safety, accessibility, respect, and care.
